Payne Education Building | Room 210/212

Thank you to Suzi Parron, author of "Barn Quilts” and “The American Quilt Trail Movement.” for a fantastic lecture and workshop. Suzi travels full time by RV speaking to quilt guilds and other organizations about barn quilts. Her 45 minute presentation during our regularly scheduled meeting took us on a journey along the quilt trail, beginning with the very first barn quilt. She shared over a 100 photographs of stunning barn quilts along with stories about some of the individuals who painted them.

Immediately following the meeting, Suzi conducted a Barn Quilt Painting Workshop. Participants created their very own painted quilt block. Everyone began with a pre-primed board (provided by Suzi) and went through each step including; drafting the design, taping and painting.

We had 29 members participate. Check back soon as we continue to post the amazing finished blocks!
